Account & Data Deletion

How to delete your Golden Hour account.

Last updated October 20, 2026

1. Delete directly in the iPhone or iPad app

You can permanently delete your Golden Hour account and associated data at any time from inside the Golden Hour iPhone or iPad app (on Android, use the web browser steps in section 2 while the Android app is on the way):

  1. Open the Golden Hour app and tap the More tab.
  2. Tap Privacy and data, then tap Delete my account.
  3. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap the final confirmation button.

If you are the studio owner on a multi-staff workspace, transfer studio ownership or remove remaining teammates first so no staff member is left locked out of an active workspace.

2. Delete on the web

If you prefer to use a browser instead of the mobile app:

  1. Sign in at www.goldenhourhq.com and open Settings > Delete account (or go directly to www.goldenhourhq.com/app/settings/delete-account).
  2. Type DELETE in the confirmation field and submit.

3. Request deletion without signing in

If you have uninstalled the app or can no longer access your sign-in, you can request account and data deletion by emailing hello@goldenhourhq.com from the email address associated with your Golden Hour account.

Include your studio name or account email in the message. To protect your studio from unauthorized deletion requests, we verify that the request comes from the registered account email address and complete manual deletion requests within 7 business days.

4. What is deleted immediately vs. what is retained

Deleted immediately when your account is removed:

  • Your account profile and login credentials (Clerk identity, active sessions, and registered push notification tokens).
  • Studio settings, services, hours, travel zones, and booking link configuration (for solo accounts closed by their owner).
  • Your client list, client notes, intake answers, photos, voice notes, and message history (purged following the account closure window or immediately upon an explicit erasure request).
  • Any optional calendar sync tokens or connected third-party integrations.

Retained as required by law and payment regulations:

  • Financial and tax transaction records: de-identified accounting, invoice, payment, and refund ledger records (amounts, timestamps, and processor transaction IDs) are retained as required by tax, accounting, and financial regulations. Payment processors (Stripe and Square) independently retain regulated transaction records under their own legal obligations.
  • Telecom compliance logs: cryptographic SMS opt-in and opt-out consent logs are retained for 4 years to satisfy TCPA evidentiary requirements.
  • Security audit log: a record of actions taken in the account, kept for fraud and dispute defense.
